Everyday and what we come across. I recently realized that if you are calling someone by his first name, you dont add “Mr.”. It is when you are calling him by his surname (Lastname or family name) that you add “Mr.”.
Example, for a name like “Prince Fordjour”, you either call the person “Prince” or “Mr. Fordjour”.
For a name like “Samadu Alhassan”. You call the person “Samadu” or “Mr. Alhassan”.
For name like “Adamu Gariba”, you call the person “Adamu” or “Mr Gariba”.
For name like “Kwaku Frimpong”, you call the person “Kwaku” or “Mr. Frimpong”.
For name like “Kaunda Ismail”, yiu call the person “Ismail” or “Mr. Kaunda”.
And if you dont know the person’s firstname. Just vall him “Mr”.
That it was during the slavery period, that slaves were required to call their masters by their firstname and mandatory “Mr.”.
So for example, since Ibrahim Abdulai is my slave, he would have called me “Mr. Ismail” though is “Ismail” is my first name.
