What is PhD

I don’t know your experience with PhD but I’ve worked in PhD environment for 10 years, the last 3 of which I also worked with an established Full Professor.

If I raise my head, na PhD
If I look down, na PhD
If I look left, na PhD
If I look right, na PhD
If I look forward, na PhD
If I look back, na PhD

Their salary you see on “single spine” is just the tip of the iceberg.
You won’t believe that some can go like 6 months or even more without touching their “single spine” salary. Because of other engagements that is fetching them way more than “single spine” salary.

PhD is meant to solve problems and those solving problems are being rewarded accordingly.

PhD holder in Ghana will write proposal to say the Dutch Childhood Cancer Organization for funding. He will be invited to the Netherlands to defend his proposal at a high delegation level. He will win millions of dollars and be running his project in Ghana. Any country he wants to go, it won’t take a week, and he is there. If he wants to relocate to any country in the world, he will do it easily koraa, with his family.

And you said a certain countries passport gives more opportunity than PhD?

I understand it is not every PhD holder in Ghana that is at the level described above. The same way it is not every developed country passport holder that is having a “good time”.

I’ve seen Brits on the street, begging. They didn’t even have to naturalize. They were born British, yet, on the street homeless. What happened to the “passport opportunities”?
