The hole at Wamfie post office, were you will insert your letter. Awudu Bonde told me that if you are inserting letter (Air Mail) and the recipient address is up, it means it is an incoming letter. That means you will get “Return”.
According to him, to make sure your letter goes to Aburokyere, slot it into the hole with the side that has your address, up.
So, I will buy the Air Mail, pay Awudu Bonde to write the content (Information) for me, then Awudu will go do the posting for me again. I was in Primary 1 or 2 then.
Years later, I realized that that hole is specific for outgoing letters and has nothing to do with incoming letters. Incoming letters will rather be put in these boxes.
So no matter how you insert it, once it is through that hole, it is “Outgoing letter” to the officers.

Needless to say, around 2012, when I was doing national service at Atebubu. I registered Box 100 (Wamfie). I think it was 35 cedis a year then. Box 100 is registered in name.
“Why u dey register box number? These days wey we get email, who go send email”?- one service guy asked.
“I want to NGO some day and if you are to communicate with entities outside Ghana, especially Europe or America, having a Box number on your letterhead is a proof that you are real. It means you have a physical existence where you can be traced”- I told him.
Years later, I found out that even email filters look for “P. O. Box what what what” in your content, if you are broadcasting email (Email Marketing).
If your email signature has P. O. Box, it is a sign to filters that you are real and have physical location, and that reduces the chances of your emails going into SPAM folder.
Fast forward to 2022, August 11, when we submitted details to register our NGO (Social Mercy Foundation), we submitted Box 100 as our Box number.
